Soul can be an elusive thing, but it’s always available. It’s the willingness of our true nature. It’s like one writer said of the great boxer Muhammed Ali - The world didn’t just see or hear him; it felt him.
As if he’d always been part of the landscape. Soul is something in us that comes from the ground up. It glues us to things. At STORIES of MEN, we approach it through the medium of ritual theatre, which involves play, improvisation, embodiment, writing, inquiries, presence work, movement, poetry, and myth.
Participants in the workshops talk again and again about the freedom gained in play. They experience wonder as we unravel and craft the stories that bring us closer to ourselves. Life brings together our rough nature and our diamond nature. We need love letters to the deep self. It’s a validation journey; a journey into wholeness from our unique gifts that serves life, and that has a relationship to the adversity we experience.
